LaVerne Holmes
established Site Seeing Tours in 1994.
She found her true labor of love when she
became a licensed tour guide and founded the
company. She
comes to the industry with a natural curiosity-
researching to find the untold stories, and the
ability to make history come alive.
LaVerne is in a special status among tour
guide leaders that welcome visitors to the city.
She is a blend of Wisconsonian nerve and
Washingtonian verve.
History is beckoning her, and those who
contract with her tours will find in her a customer
friendly guide and a culturally sophisticated leader
of tours in the Nation’s capital.
What drives LaVerne and the guides at Site Seeing Tours is
captured in a comment made by writer/professor,
Sonia Sanchez “…the kind of joy of teaching,
where you make people jump barriers and touch each
other.” Site Seeing Tours’ guides, like teachers
at their best provides information that encourages
dialogue and inspires future discovery for visitors
of all ages.”

Our
company guides are multicultural and multilingual;
they love their work! They’ll
take you on a historic journey filled with
interesting facts and figures about American Places:
government, heroes/heroines, the arts, and the
historically rich culture of the local communities. Site
Seeing Tours stays on top of what is developing in
Washington because they are constantly updating
information on tours.
Visitors can be sure that once the U.S.Air
Force Memorial is complete, this sight too will be
included on tours.
